Joyce Marie (Doss) Cruickshank APRIL 22, 1933 ~ DECEMBER 29, 2018 (AGE 85)

Joyce M. Cruickshank, age 85, of Brookfield, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Joyce Marie, daughter of Henry and Ruth (Allen) Doss, was born April 22, 1933, in Sumner.

Joyce spent many years working as a Registered Nurse for Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe and Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa.

She attended the United Methodist Church in Laclede.

Joyce enjoyed camping and gambling and loved reading and sports, especially her Kansas Jayhawks! In her younger years she also enjoyed stock car racing. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, Kirby Cruickshank and wife, Bridget of Cameron, Cindy Walk and husband, Kelly of Kanawha, Iowa, Peggy Cummings and husband, Terry of Woodburn, Iowa, Cade Cruickshank and wife, Alyssa of Lawrence, Kansas, Kim Wilkerson and husband, Mark of Laclede, and a grandson she raised, Michael Cruickshank and wife, Sarah of Osceola, Iowa; seventeen other grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Randy Doss and Mark Doss; one half-sister, Sandra Feese; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Her parents; step-father, Barney McClintick; one daughter, Kathy “Sis” Cruickshank; one grandson, Ryan Spencer; and two brothers, Henry “Bill” Doss and Charlie Doss preceded her in death.
