Robert Lee Horn Sr. (Bob), 83, of Kirksville, died December 19, 2018 in the North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by his children.

Born July 1, 1935 in Jacksonville, Illinois he was the son of Ralph and Meta (Lovekamp) Horn. On November 15, 1959 he married Andrea Riess.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Andrea and his eldest son, Robert Jr (Bobby) who passed away this year in Memphis, TN.

Bob is survived by son Randell Horn and his wife Kassaundra; two daughters, Rebecca Davis and her husband Joe, Rhonda Yoder and her husband Scott; six grandchildren Clinton Davis, Miranda Davis, Jacob Davis, Austin Lewis, Andrea Horn, and Randell Horn Jr.; two sisters Ethel Kloppe and Marilyn Black and many nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from high school in New Berlin Il in 1953 and went off to serve in the Army before he returned to Illinois and married Andrea in 1959. They moved to Missouri in 1960 and began a life of farming and active service in church and community.

Over the course of his farm life in Adair County Missouri, Bob served as an Elder in the Faith Lutheran Church, he was an active leader in the Adair County 4-H, he served as President of the NEMO Fair Board in the mid 1970’s. He was recognized by the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1970 and he and his family were recognized as farm family of the year in 1976. Bob began his insurance career in 1968 opening the Adair-Schuyler county Farm Bureau agency.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:00 at Faith Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Lukefahr presiding. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville. Public visitation will be held in the church with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
