Richard Lee McKim May 6, 1938 - December 16, 2018

Richard Lee McKim, 80, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born May 6, 1938 in Kirksville, Missouri, Richard was the son of James Albert and Maggie Ruth (Harden) McKim. On May 24, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri, Richard was united in marriage to Mary Anita Leonard who preceded him in death on January 23, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary McKim in 1945 and one brother, Donald McKim in 1987.

Richard is survived by three sons, Alan (Marcia) McKim of Green Castle, MO, Richard McKim of Novinger, MO, and Kenny (Kris) McKim of Kirksville, MO; two daughters, Cynthia Sue Gibson of Sedalia, MO and Sheila (Russell) Pruett of Kirksville, MO; two brothers, Larry McKim of Brashear, MO, and Jerry McKim of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Connie Kelsey of Brashear, MO; one brother-in-law, Wendell "Bud" Leonard of Clarinda, IA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard resided most of his life in Adair County where he received his education. He worked as a press operator for Donaldson Filters and Clamps for a number of years and mowed Shibley's Point Cemetery for seventeen years after his wife passed away in 1991. Richard enjoyed horses and working on cars and tractors.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Cornerstone Church in Kirksville, with Pastor Jeremy Broach officiating. Music selections will be provided by Jenita Davison and Audra Harris. Interment will follow at Shibley's Point Cemetery, north of Novinger, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from noon to 2:00 pm service time at the Cornerstone Church.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Richard McKim may be made to the Shibley's Point Cemetery and may be left at the Cornerstone Church the day of the service or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
