William "Bill" M. O'Dell January 31, 1946 - November 21, 2018

William M. O’Dell, age 72 of Marceline, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia. Bill was born in Brookfield, Missouri on January 31, 1946 to John Lee O’Dell Sr. and Margaret M. (Sporer) O’Dell. He married Anita C. Lingchang and she preceded him in death in 2017.

Bill worked for the United States Government in the Navy for over 20 years. He was a member of the Marceline VFW Post #1471 and St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sons, David O’Dell of Marceline and Christopher O’Dell of Santee, California, two brothers, John O’Dell Jr. and Bonnie of Springfield and Gregory P. O’Dell and Cindy of Marceline, sister Cindy Tyler and John of Memphis, Tennessee, and grandson Ryan C. O’Dell of Santee, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anita and grandson Logan Joseph O’Dell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Monday, November 26, 2018 at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline. Burial with Military Honors will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM with prayer service at 5:45 PM Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline. Memorials can be made to VFW Post #1471 and mailed to 1720 N.
