Robert "Bob" Lee McCarty September 17, 1934 - December 04, 2018

Robert Lee McCarty, age 84, of Clarence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence, Missouri.

Bob was born on September 17, 1934, in Clarence, Missouri, the son of Sheldon and Alyce S. (Hansen) McCarty. He was united in marriage to Carol Rae (Green) McCarty on November 26, 1954 at the United Methodist Church of Clarence, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2004.

He is survived by three children, Shelli Bergh (Bill) of Sturgeon, Missouri, Michelle Utterback of Clarence, Missouri, and Kerry McCarty (Susan) of Clarence, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Jon McCarty (Brooke), Emily Hays (Tyler), Nathaniel Moore (Michaelina), Ann Wood (Kendel), Rebecca Kearney,Jared Albach (Erin), Adam Albach, Alycean Waddell (Ryan), Keely McCarty, Amelia Schepers (Nick); 14 great grandchildren, and special friends, Marc and Joey Kearney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Patrick McCarty; and infant brother, John McCarty.

Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a paratrooper. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clarence, American Legion Post 309, and Walkersville Card Playing Association. Over the years, Bob worked as a lifelong farmer and hog producer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Cardinal baseball, pinochle, and eating homemade ice cream. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10 am at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, Missouri with Pastor Delbert Earlywine as the officiant. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center or Camp Jo-Ota in Clarence.
