Antonia "Toni" Mitten June 4, 1942 - December 2, 2018

Antonia “Toni” Mitten, age 76 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at her home.

Born June 4, 1942 in Salcedo, Samar, Philippines, the daughter of Catino and Gregoria (Garapan) Duran. On February 24, 1971 in Cavite City, Philippines she was united in marriage to Donald Mitten who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Harold Mitten and Ashli Houchins of Columbia, Missouri and Jeffery and Millicen Mitten of Paris, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Knightlee, and Knixa Mitten.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Toni lived most of her life in the La Plata area. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Toni’s greatest joy came from having a house full of children. Even if they weren’t family, she loved them like they were her own. Many who were in her care still lovingly talk about “Toni’s Rules”. She was a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church, Buzzard Roost Street Rods of Macon, Missouri, and Northeast Missouri Car Club of Kirksville, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Terry Davison. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
