Betty Jean (Turner) (Hamilton) Beerbower, 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

Born September 13, 1927 in Kirksville, Missouri, Betty was the daughter of the late Roy Lester and Myrtle (Darnell) Turner. On July 3, 1947 in Ft. Smith, AR, Betty was united in marriage to Hollis Glen Hamilton who preceded her in death. On February 14, 1976 in Kirksville, MO, Betty married Donald Beerbower who also preceded Betty in death. Betty was preceded in death by one son, Randy Hamilton; five brothers, Chester, Charles, Tommy, Donnie, and Leroy Turner, as well as two sisters, Lorena Darnel and Levena Gregory.

Betty is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Phyllis Hamilton of Kirksville, MO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Phyllis Turner of Queen City, MO and Roy and Carolyn Turner and Clifford and Donneta Turner all of Kirksville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Pearley Vincent of Queen City, MO; daughter-in-law, Judy Hamilton of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Odilia Turner of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Brian Hamilton, Jenny Trampp, Taira McVay, and Josh Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren, Ivan McVay, Dalton McVay, Drew McVay, Logan McVay, Austin Trampp, Hannah Trampp, Jacob Trampp, Emma Trampp, and Autumn Hamilton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Betty attended Kirksville public school and worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory. In 1958, Betty then went to work with her husband for their business (Glen Hamilton Plumbing) until his passing in 1972. At that time, Betty went to work at Hollister Inc. where she was employed twenty years until retiring in 1991.

Betty enjoyed square dancing, bluegrass festivals, country music, fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking. Most of all Betty loved time spent with her family and grandchildren and was fond of animals, especially her dogs.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Steven Nelson officiating. Betty will be cremated following her service on Friday and will be interred at a later date at Ringo Point Cemetery, southeast of Green Castle, MO.
