Leroy Armstrong, age 73, of Brookfield, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at his home.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm. Wednesday October 10, 2018 at the Park Baptist Church, Brookfield, Missouri with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Thursday October 11, 2018 at the Park Baptist Church with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri. Leroy was born August 7, 1945 the son of Harold Frederick and Thelma May (Miller) Armstrong in Brookfield, Missouri. On October 16, 1971 Leroy married Linda Melte in Laclede, Missouri. Leroy worked for Ag-Land, Linn County Machine, City Of Brookfield, Green Hills Ag, and retired from the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department after 13 years of service. He was past President of Brookfield Little League Football Association, Brookfield Booster club for many years, Linn County Ambulance Board, Linn County Antique Tractor Association, and a member of Park Baptist Church. In the past Leroy helped run the clock at Burlington Field for the football games and supported the Brookfield Athletic programs. Leroy enjoyed collecting Massey Harris Tractors, numerous toy and pedal tractors, and spending time with his family.

Leroy is survived by his wife Linda of the home; four children; two daughters, Melissa Elson and husband Brian, Laclede, MO; Kandi Williams and husband Derek ; two sons, Bryan Armstrong and wife Robyn, and Scott Armstrong and wife Jenny, Brookfield, MO; one sister Minnie Jacobs; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Sportsman and wife Taryn, Rockaway Beach, MO, Blaine Sportsman, Laclede, MO, Jeremy Elson, New York, Alyssa Elson, Leawood, KS, Seth Armstrong, Peyton Armstrong, Zane Armstrong, Jacob Day, and Mitchell Day, Brookfield, MO, Blake Houston, Nikolas Houston, and Karlee Houston; three sister-in-law’s; Eva Engberg, Brookfield, Mo. Margaret Noll and husband Larry, New Cambria, MO, Darlene Young and husband Jerry, Warrensburg, MO; several nieces and nephews and life-long best friend Rick Foster, Lingo, MO.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law Gary Engberg and David Henley.
