Frances Lea (Campbell) Helms, 96 yours old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Milan Health Care Facility.

Frances was born November 30, 1921, to Johnson and Rosa Mae (Dillinger) Campbell at Pollock, Missouri. On April 1, 1945, she married Rex Helms at Milan, Missouri. Rex preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are three daughters, Janet Lea Ford and her husband Junior of Milan, Paula Kay West and her husband Kenny of Milan, and Jean Ann White and her husband Rick of Milan. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters, also preceding her in death was a loving grandson, Brian West.

Frances was a life-long resident of Sullivan County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Milan. She was a hard worker all of her life. She was a wonderful cook and exceptional gardener. France’s work ethic was next to none and the size and the quality of her garden proved just that. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over sixty years. Frances belonged to the Get Up and Go Club for numerous years. To say that Frances was a strong Republican would be an understatement.

Funeral contributions are suggested to Campbell Cemetery. The land for Campbell Cemetery was donated by her family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. A scheduled visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M., Monday afternoon until the time of service.
