Howard Wayne Whitlow, 89 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.

The son of Henry Ettis and Mary Alice (Baugher) Whitlow, Jr., he was born on June 28, 1929 in rural Glenwood, Missouri. On July 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Pauline Lyn Gosser and to this union five children, Mike, Cathy, Randy, Julie and Lori were born.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Whitlow of Queen City, Missouri; his children, Mike Whitlow and wife, Nancy of Lancaster, Missouri, Cathy Jennings and husband, Roy of Queen City, Missouri, Randy Whitlow and friend, Brenda Swedberg-Bruner of Lancaster, Missouri, Julie Cook and husband, Henry of Lancaster, Missouri and Lori Horn and husband, Eric of Ashland, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Michael A. Whitlow and wife, Missy of Aurora, Illinois, Michelle Whitlow and fiancé, Michael of Grays Lake, Illinois, Richard Whitlow and wife, Shelly of Charlotte, Tennessee, Brian Jennings and wife, Melany of Ogden, Iowa, Brady Jennings and wife, Cassie of O’Fallon, Missouri, Travis Whitlow and wife, Crystal of Queen City, Missouri, Jason Whitlow of Lancaster, Missouri, Chance Cook and wife, Ivy of Crawford, Missouri, Rhett Cook and wife, Jessika of Rolla, Missouri, Denver Horn of Ashland, Missouri, Morgan Horn of Ashland, Missouri and Taiya Horn of Ashland, Missouri; 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other family members including a special friend, Vicki McBride of Bryan, Ohio.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald Eugene Whitlow and one sister, Doris Louise Wheeler Mullenix.

Howard was a member of the Queen City United Methodist Church in Queen City, Missouri.

Howard graduated from the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. He was a livestock farmer in the Queen City area for a number of years and was employed by the Kirksville Livestock Market and other local sale barns.

Howard enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always outgoing and never knew a stranger!
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. H. R. Rogers, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri assisted by Gary Stump will be officiating the services. Music will be provided by Twila Anderson, pianist and Cole Tippett, soloist performing a special selection of “Open My Eyes That I May See”. Pallbearers will be Michael A. Whitlow, Richard Whitlow, Brian Jennings, Brady Jennings, Travis Whitlow, Jason Whitlow, Chance Cook, Rhett Cook and Denver Horn. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nursing Home.
