Roma Belle Erwin, 95, resident of the Schuyler County Nursing Home, formerly of Greentop, Mo., passed away Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

Born December 22, 1922, in rural Adair County, Roma Belle was the youngest child of George and Jennie Jackson. On January 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Erwin of Greentop.

Roma Belle is survived by one son Jack Erwin and wife Linda of Greentop, one daughter Gloria Aldridge and husband Ron of Greentop; three grandchildren, Jacki Sapp and husband Randy of Greentop, Luke Erwin and wife Julia of Greentop, and Casey Williams and husband Dustin of Nebraska: seven great grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, and Shayna Sapp, Gabriel. Loren and Corben Williams, Abbie, Taylor, Kaylee, and Emily Erwin; eight great-great grandchildren Dalton, Sara, Sophia, and Isabelle Sapp, Madelyn Sapp, Scarlitt Henry, Wyatt and Harper Eddy; and one nephew Johnny Joe Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, brothers Joe and John Jackson, a sister Elizabeth Rogers, and son-in-law Richard Mathes.

Roma Belle received her education in rural Adair County and graduated from the Kirksville High School.

Roma Belle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent her life taking care of family and friends. She was a “Jack of all trades”, she cleaned houses, cooked, wallpapered, and re-upholstered furniture with long time friend “Sis” Myers. She loved to sew, spent time with family and friends, and was quite a card player.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (September 24, 2018) in the Dooley Funeral Home, with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in the Greentop Cemetery.

Ballbearers will be Luke Erwin, Jared Sapp, Jordon Sapp, Randy Sapp, Mike Western, and Tim Eddy.

Visitation will be Monday (September 24, 2018) from 10:00 am until time of service in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Mo. 63561.

Memorials are suggested to the Greentop Cemetery or the Schuyler County Nursing Home.
