Morene Lumsden 1929 ~ 2018 (AGE 88)

Morene Lumsden, 88 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Morene was born December 30, 1929 in Milan to Andrew and Elizabeth (Henderson) Coffman. On June 26, 1954, she married John William Lumsden, he preceded her in death in 1998.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael Wayne Lumsden of Milan and Mark Duane Lumsden and wife Annett of Green City; a granddaughter, Rebecca McCabe and husband Travis of Milan; two great grandchildren, Madylin Marie McCabe and Charlie Ray McCabe; a sister, Lorene Molloy of Trenton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; five sisters, Louise Crump, Opal Judd, Onita White, Goldie Bradley, and Juanita Hagan; and six brothers, Jigs Coffman, Raymond Coffman, Bobby Coffman, Murl Coffman, Carl Coffman in-infancy, and one in-infancy.

Morene lived most of her life in Sullivan County. She worked at F.M. Stampers, which later was Con Agra for over 40 years. She also worked for a time at the Milan C-II cafeteria, the sale barn, and The Paradox. Morene was a past member of the Oats Bus committee, the Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary and also volunteered for the food pantry. She was a current member of Christ’s Community Church. Morene enjoyed painting, drawing, cooking and picking blackberries, mushrooms, and greens. Morene loved taking trips and also going to the movies.

Funeral services for Morene will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, September 10, 2018, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Thomas Union Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM.
