Hilda Eldora Harrelson, 97 of Kirksville passed away Thursday (August 30, 2018) at Kirksville Manor Care.

The daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Hedricks) Glaspie, she was born November 28, 1920 in Connelsville, MO. She was married to Cecil Craig and to this union three children were born, Charlene, Carlos and Darlene. She later married William M. Harrelson and to this union three children were born, Johnny, Connie and David.

Hilda is survived by her children, Johnny Harrelson and fiancée Kathy of Kirksville, Connie Holt and husband Darrell of Kirksville, and David Harrelson of Georgia; one step son, Jimmy (Judy) Harrelson of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Tracy (Bridget) Downen, Josh Harrelson, Brad Penn, Alicia (Rick) Green, Connie (Rich) Craig and Katie Hawkins; one brother, Freddie Glaspie of Kirksville; and several great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three children, Carlene Craig, Carlos Craig and Darlene Downen; two step children, Paul and Allen Harrelson; one granddaughter, Sheila Helm; one daughter-in-law, Pricilla Craig; one granddaughter-in-law, Margaret Downen; six brother and sisters, Wanda (Dwain) Craig, Lyle (Donna) Glaspie, Martin (Nettie) Glaspie, Lizzie (Carn) Eitel, Helen (James) Ledford, and Clifford Glaspie; and a sister-in-law, Betty Glaspie.

Hilda was employed at numerous Restaurants including, Shamrock, Thousand Hills, Travellers, B&E Grill, Temple Stephens, Zucchi’s Café and Elaine’s. She finally retired from the KOH Hospital.

She enjoyed the outside very much, picking Berries, and cooking Sunday dinner for the whole family. She loved and adored all her grandchildren and step grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday (September 1, 2018) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Draper officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lewellyn Cemetery.
