Virginia Black, age 94, of Brookfield, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at McLarney Manor in Brookfield.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield.

Virginia Lea, daughter of Lawrence and Viva (Correll) Stuver, was born January 13, 1924, in Brookfield.

Virginia was a homemaker and spent many years as a graphic designer and as a nanny in the Kansas City area.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Kansas City and attended the First Christian Church in Brookfield. Virginia had a passion for reading. She also enjoyed quilting, square dancing and the comfort of her cats.

Survivors include one son, Douglas Stuver Black and wife, Linda of St. Catharine; one daughter, Cathi Charlotte Grant of Lathrop; three grandchildren, Douglas Sean Black and wife, Christine of Columbia, Christopher Allan Black of Linn, and Kelli Rose Black of St. Catharine; three great-grandchildren, Annika Grace Black, Carsyn Morris, and Braeden Morris all of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Her parents; one brother; Donald Leroy Stuver; three grandchildren, Brandi Nicole Grant, Maxwell Michael Grant, and Brittni Noelle Grant; and one son-in-law, Michael Edward Grant preceded her in death.
