by BENJAMIN C. NELSON

SHELBINA - On July 24th (6 P.M.) at the South Shelby Complex, Superintendent of Schools Tim Maddex, will face the public with any questions they have about Proposition 1 – School Boundary Change. Maddex is expected to be accompanied by the School Board of the Shelby County R-lV School District. After announcing this forum, the “Excellence through Opportunity” Committee (Pro-Redistricting) announced their forum which will be held at the Macon Middle School Gym on the same date, July 24th (6 P.M.). The School Board and Superintendent of South Shelby is putting on their forum; the Macon R-1 School Board and Superintendent as of now, will not be actively participating in the citizen/committee ran “Excellence through Opportunity” Forum. Voters in both the Macon R-1 School District and the Shelby County R-lV School District will have a choice on August 7th whether to “Vote Yes” or “Vote No.” A yes vote is in favor of school redistricting while a no vote is against. The Home Press is set to go LIVE at both forums on July 24th. Citizens in both districts are highly encouraged to attend either and to ask questions.
