Virginia "Ginger" Mattingly May 15, 1954 - June 19, 2018

Virginia Irene “Ginger” Mattingly, 64, of Macon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at her home east of Macon.

Ginger was born on May 15, 1954, in New Castle, DE, the daughter of Laurel Wesley and Irene Gladys (Guthrie) Clarkson. She was united in marriage to Robert Mattingly on August 20, 1982, in Paris, MO. Ginger enjoyed reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Macon, and when her health allowed, she volunteered her time to run the Macon County Food Bank, assist with the Methodist Wednesday Evening Meals and church rummage sales.

Ginger is survived by her husband Robert of Macon, two children, Matthew Mattingly and his wife Gayla of Callao, MO, and Jennifer Nuhn and her husband Mitchell of La Plata, MO, two grandchildren, Jaxson and Addison Mattingly, two sisters, Donna Clarkson and Candy Whitaker and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Laurel Wesley Clarkson II, Robert Clarkson, and Andrew Clarkson.

Graveside memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, with Rev. Carl Knapp officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
