Jim Carpenter, age 89, of Liberty, formerly of Rothville, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at The Laurel at Norterre Assisted Living and Memory Care in Liberty.

A funeral service will be Monday, June 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Christopher M. Collier, Executive Minister of Rocky Fork Fellowship, officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Rothville Cemetery in Rothville.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Rothville Baptist Church may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Jim Mayo, son of Claude and Mabel (Mayo) Carpenter, was born May 5, 1929, in Missouri. On July 3, 1949, he married Lorene Kelley.

He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea.

Jim was a lifelong farmer in the Rothville area. He was a member of Rothville Baptist Church in Rothville and former member of the Tanglefoot Squares in Brookfield.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene of the home; one son, Steve Carpenter and wife, Trudy of Kansas City; two grandsons, Ryan M. Carpenter and wife, Lauren of Merced, California and Brent M. Carpenter and wife, Sarah of Bloomington, Indiana; and three great-grandsons, Woods C. Carpenter, Dylan A. Carpenter, and Deacon J. Carpenter.

His parents; one brother, William Carpenter; and two sisters, Dorothy Mildred Wallace and Nadine Curtright preceded him in death.
