Larry Dale Smoyer, 68, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home.

Larry was born November 15, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Harry Franklin and Marjorie A. (Daniels) Smoyer. On August 20, 1969 in Greentop, Missouri, Larry was united in marriage to Sherry Cooper.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sherry of forty-nine years; his mother, Marjorie Smoyer of Kirksville, MO; one son, Denny Dale Smoyer of St. Paul, MN; one daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and David Bost of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Steve Smoyer of Parkville, MO; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Christman of Kirksville, MO, Pamela Joe and Mike Franke of Novelty, MO, and Kathy and Joe Biggerstaff of Bella Vista, AR; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Gabriel, Joseph, Abigail, Madiline, Kiana, and Kayla.; several nieces and nephews, as well as many spiritual sons, daughters, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Smoyer in 2014 and one brother Michael Smoyer in infancy.

Larry was a graduate from Kirksville High School. He farmed with his father in rural Greentop, Missouri, as well as owned and operated a trenching business with his brother, Steve (Smoyer Trenching and Cable) a number of years. He also recognized the devotion of his office manager Barb Daniels who was employed for them for over twenty years. Larry was patient with all and lived neighboring to the top, mowing peoples yards, plowing their drive ways, and pumping out basements.

Larry demonstrated faith everyday and was a devoted member of Kirksville Live Church of Kirksville. He will always be remembered for his patient and loving way with others. Larry was a very loving and devoted husband, dad, son, grandpa, and brother and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Life Church in Kirksville, with family receiving friends one hour before service time. The service will be under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
