Gary Reuel Roberts (Aug 19, 1937 - Jun 01, 2018)

Gary Reuel Roberts, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born August 19, 1937 in Kirksville, Missouri, Gary was the son of the late Reuel Weaver and Delia Naomi (Scott) Roberts. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Naomi Roberts.

Gary is survived by one son, Jeffrey Clyde Roberts of San Antonio, TX, IL; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Eagen of Bartlesville, OK; one sister, Virginia Louise Spangler of St. Charles, MO, as well as three grandchildren.

Gary received his education in the Hazel Green rural school, graduated from Kirksville High School and attended college at Truman State University. From 1955 to 1963 Gary served in with the Department of Army & Air Force National Guard. He returned home to the family farm and began row crop farming and raising cattle which he did most all of his life.

Gary enjoyed watching animals, gardening and going to the Farmer's Market in Kirksville.

He was a member of Sabbath Home Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from noon until service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Pastor Darrell Draper will officiate the service and Twila Jones and Dianthe Cable will provide music selections, "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Memories". Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Noel Lee McClanahan, Mike Erwin, Gary Mathes, Stephen Spangler, Randal Spangler, and Ferris McClanahan.
