Shirley Kay Pippin, 75 of Atlanta, MO passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Loch Haven in Macon surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice Compassus.

Kay was born on September 6, 1942 in Clarinda, Iowa to John Clark and Blanche (Gell) Black. On August 29, 1980 at Macon, she was united in marriage to Robert Pippin, who survives of the home. She is also survived by 3 children: Nicole Hinz of Fulton, MO; Thomas (Peggy) Hinz of LaPlata; and Jeffrey (Carla) Hinz of Newton, KS; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; father-in-law, Virgil Pippin of Elmer; 2 sisters-in-law; Nancy Haley of Elmer and Cindy Gwinner of Eldon; brother-in-law; Victor Pippin of LaPlata; other relatives and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John F. Black and sister, Betty Jean Vogel.

Kay was a high school graduate and earned some college credits while living in Page County, Iowa. She had worked at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon for several years and as a secretary at KCOM in Kirksville before her retirement. Kay was also a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church. Kay's great joys were taking care of her beloved poodle, Missy, her brood of cats and a couple of stray dogs.

Kay was dearly loved by her husband of nearly 38 years and she dearly loved her entire family.

It was Kay's request to be cremated and memorial services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11 AM at the Elmer Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the Elmer Baptist Church.
