Bonny Swank, 90, previously of Brookfield, Missouri passed into the arms of her Savior on May 9, 2018 in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Brookfield with Pastor Mandy Wiedeman officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children or First Christian Church may be left at the church or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Bonny Ruth, daughter of Franklin and Molly (Glaze) Jobe, was born August 4, 1927 in Humphreys, Missouri. On September 10, 1950, she married Eugene C. Swank who preceded her in death on March 3, 2009 after 58 years of marriage. Bonny grew up in Humphreys, Summer and Salisbury where she attended grade school. Her family later moved to Brookfield where she graduated high school in 1945. Mrs. Swank was a stay at home mother when her children were young. She was later employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, JC Penney’s, L.T York in the Print Shop, Walsworth Publishing Company and as an employee of Brookfield Elementary and Jr. High Schools where she retired in 1998.

Bonny was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church where she sang in the choir for 70 years, served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School teacher. She was also a 70 year member of Florence Chapter #124 serving as Past Matron, Past District Deputy and Grand Representative to Delaware. She was a member of the Grand Cross of Color and served on the Advisory Board. She helped to form Brookfield Rainbow for Girls in 1954 and served on their Advisory Board. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of CWF and the Retired Teachers and School Personnel Association in Brookfield.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca (Becky) Sue Wallace and Dale Wallace of Chillicothe; one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Clayton (Clay) Swank, Jr. and Paula Swank of Peru, Illinois; 2 grandsons, Timothy Alan Wallace and fiancée, Cathy Peniston of Chillicothe and children Jyssica Wright and Bobby Peniston; Ryan Dane Wallace and wife, Kalee, Blue Springs, and one step-granddaughter, Ellie Jones, Fletcher, North Carolina, 5 nieces and 3 nephews and a cousin in Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, one brother James and sister-in- law Ellyn (Polly) Jobe, and sister Norma and brother-in-law Walter Carroll, sisters and brothers-in-laws Ed and Mary Taylor and Bernice and Dale Moeder and nephew Frank Taylor.

She enjoyed her family, quilting, painting and different types of handiwork.
