Update! Macon Police Report on South Rollins Incident

April 11, 2018

Police Update: On the afternoon of 04/11/2018, Macon Police applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for the 37-year old male suspect arrested earlier in the day. Law enforcement had spent several hours attempting to contact the man and a female victim he was holding against her will inside a residence on Crescent Drive in Macon. Charges of Felony Domestic Assault and Felony Kidnapping were included on the warrant issued for David L. Yount of Macon with bond set at $100,000 cash only. Yount remains in custody in the Macon County Jail at this time.

On 04/11/2018 at approximately 5:15am, Macon Police Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault situation in the 600 block of Crescent Drive. Upon attempting contact at the residence, police were unable to get a response from anyone. Early information led law enforcement to believe someone was being held against their will inside the residence. Assistance was given by the Macon County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol including help from their Negotiations and SWAT teams. During the investigation, numerous attempts to contact subjects inside the residence were made over a period of several hours. Communication was eventually established with a male subject inside the

residence by phone. After approximately 30 minutes of communication, the male subject exited the residence where he was taken into custody pending further investigation. A female victim also exited the residence and was contacted by officers present. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene. Upon further investigation, the 37 year old male suspect was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges for domestic assault, kidnapping and felonious restraint. A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
