NELSON SET TO SIT DOWN WITH INVOLVED PARTIES OF THE PROPOSED SHELBINA/CLARENCE SCHOOL MERGER

by BENJAMIN C. NELSON

In the coming days, I will be sitting down with the "Cardinal Kids Together" Committee (in favor of the merger) in hopes to start putting together an informative article for both residents of Shelby County and Macon County. In the coming weeks, ahead of the April Election in Shelby County, I will also be sitting down with those that oppose the proposed merger - "Vote No" Committee. I have been in contact with both sides, urging them to organize a panel of individuals (at their discretion) to answer questions or provide information for my article. I will also be sitting down with Macon R-1 Officials to discuss the situation as well. I WILL BE MEETING WITH ALL PARTIES SEPERATELY AT DIFFERENT TIMES. Macon R-1 can become involved if redistricting occurs. I recommend those concerned in Macon, for right now until the "big" article is released, to check out Missouri Statute - RsMO section 162.431. This statute deals with redistricting and the process that could take place.

In conclusion, I also highly recommend those with any questions that would like for me to ask to any party set to be interviewed, to submit questions to my email: bcncvc@mail.missouri.edu. These questions will be anonymous.
