MACON CITY GOVERNMENT SHOWDOWN - Starts To Take Shape
With less than five days before filing ends for those wanting to run on the ballot for the April General Municipal Election, several new faces have tossed their hat into the ring making for a very interesting election cycle in the coming months. Most eyes will be on the Mayor's Race as James T. Holman (Talt) has filed for the position; challenging Incumbent Dale Bagley who has served since 2002 (rarely having competition in previous elections). From my previous article, additional candidates who have also filed are, Craig VanDeraa for Ward 3 Councilman, as well as Tony Petre for Ward 2 Councilman. So far, the list of filed candidates are as follows:
Mayor: Dale Bagley and Talt Holman
Ward 1 Councilman: Ernie Lea
Ward 2 Councilman: Tony Petre
Ward 3 Councilman: Jerold Carr and Craig VanDeraa
Ward 4 Councilman: Jerry Thompson
City Collector: Rebecca Sims
