Macon County Health department drive-thru flu clinics

September 29, 2023

The Macon County Health Department will be holding drive-thru flu vaccine clinics throughout Macon County in the month of October. We will be offering flu vaccines for adults, including high-dose flu vaccine for those over the age of 65.

We will also have the updated fall COVID-19 vaccine available at these drive-thrus. These COVID-19 fall doses are to help continue building protection against the virus that causes COVID-19 and covers the most prominent circulating strain. It is recommended for ages 6 months and up; we are carrying Pfizer, which is approved for ages 12 and up. Individuals are eligible for a fall COVID vaccine when it’s been at least 2 months since their most recent COVID vaccine.

Please wear a short sleeved shirt, as vaccines will be given in the arm at the drive-thrus. Bring your insurance card or a copy of the front and back; we will have flu vaccine available for those who are uninsured or underinsured. You can fill out your paperwork ahead of time if you prefer, just print it out and hand it to us when you get in line: Flu consent form

We will only be giving flu vaccines to adults at our drive thrus, we will be going to Macon County schools throughout October offering flu vaccines for the students who signed up (click here for dates).
